Description: North Star Trenchless, LLC has partnered with Jordan Foster and others on a TxDOT project that involved relocation of existing El Paso Water (EPW) 48-inch water line in order to widen State Loop 375. Scope of work included pit excavation and installation of 2,638 LF of 66-inch Hobas direct jack pipe to be utilized as casing. There were a total of 7 tunnels on this project and lengths range from 43 to 721 LF. Pipe jacking/tunneling methods with TBM are being utilized to install. Soil conditions are caliche and sand. Poorly graded running sands were encountered, but NST was able to work with partners as a team to determine a revised profile and avoid these conditions and achieve successful completion.
