Description: Installation of 4 – 12-foot diameter shafts at depths ranging from 15 to 25 feet and hand mined approximately 700 liner feet of 48-inch diameter 2-flange liner plate in sandy/silty soil conditions. Crews removed a bypassed existing 15-inch sanitary line, installed the 2-flange liner plate, loaded a new 30-inch sanitary pipe inside the tunnel and pumped cellular grout in the annular space between liner and carrier. Purpose of project was to accommodate increased flows from new adjacent high-rise construction.
